The one thing that seems constant in 2020 is sudden change.

For the last 14 months, I have served as a twinned vice principal, splitting my time between Laurelwood and Cedarbrae. This week, the school board reallocated twinned vice principals to distance learning schools, effective this coming Monday. Additionally, they have asked me to serve as a temporary principal in distance learning for grades 3 and 4 students. At this time, the vice principal will not be filled.

This means that today is my last day at Laurelwood Public School. I want to thank our staff, students and our families for welcoming me. As you know, Laurelwood is an outstanding school. It has been my honour to be part of such a great community.

For the time being, I will be working out of my Laurelwood office in my new role. If I have been your contact, please reach out to our principal, Heather Preddie, at heather_preddie@wrdsb.ca or our school email at lrw@wrdsb.ca to reach our office staff, including our principal.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Fay
