On June 9, the Minister of Education announced that Child Care Centres may reopen as part of the Framework for Re-Opening Our Province: Stage 2. The WRDSB is committed to this phased approach and ensuring our facilities are safe and ready for reentry. We recognize that supporting child care and the early years sector is crucial to allow families to return to work.

A Phased Approach

As we prepare for the work ahead to re-open child care and summer camp programs, the following programs will open in child care centres co-located in our schools:

• Licensed Child Care Centres
• Licensed Summer Camp Programs

Child care operators will be communicating information with families registered at these sites about programs being offered. 

EarlyON Child and Family Centres will remain closed until Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health determines it is safe for them to open.  As child care centres reopen, emergency child care will end on June 26, 2020.

Child care centres co-located in schools may open as early as July 6th however this date may be pushed back based on the readiness of our buildings or our childcare centre operators. Contact your child care provider for details.
