I would like to say goodbye to the Laurelwood community as we welcome a new principal for the school. Mr. Dan Enns will be joining the Laurelwood family beginning on Monday, November 30th as principal. He was formally principal at John Mahood P.S. in Elmira.

I would also like to say thank you to everyone; students, staff and community, for making me feel welcome over the past few months and assisting in making the school a safe and welcoming environment for the students to return.

It certainly has been an unusual start to the school year and the routines of the school are very different, but the students are happy and the staff are glad to be working with them again. 

Laurelwood is a wonderful place to be; full of caring people (students and staff) looking for ways to support each other. Next week’s ‘Week of Giving’ is a prime example of their wish to help others whether in the school, community, Ontario or further.  I feel very lucky to have been part of this community every day.

I wish you a safe and healthy rest of the school year and one day we may meet again!
